When I’m Not On This Earth
It was a sunny day with a clear blue sky
touching the tops of the red rocks piled high
and a poignant feeling came over me with the thought
that one day I actually would not
be here on this earth to breathe in this scene
nor to cast my eyes over the scented wild flowers so serene.
Little Joe
Once upon a time,
there was a precious baby named Joe.
He was chubby and cuddly from the top of his head
to the tip of each little toe.
He had two big sisters and a brother, too.
And two cats and a dog - what was he to do?!
At four months of age
he was cute as a button
and wise as a sage.
